If you know anything about the ladies behind Maven, you’ll know that we constantly refer to bloggers and celebrities as our style guides. Whether they style themselves or have personal stylists, you can constantly scan Instagram, gossip mags, or Pinterest to get inspired by your style sister. We all have our own individual styles, so one size definitely doesn’t fit all, which is why we’ve set up a little guide for your go-to style blogger and celeb inspiration!
How would you describe your style personality?
Lucky for you, there’s no shortage of boho pieces or celebrity style gurus to find! You may have already heard of boho style queen Nicole Richie, but others like Sienna Miller, Alexa Chung, and Kate Bosworth can do no wrong. As for bloggers, the always chic Rumi Neely from Fashion Toast will make you super jealous and inspired!
Christine Hsu @KKarmalove styles our Pool Party Romper with an over sized cardigan and ankle booties for the perfect boho-inspired outfit.
When it comes to you, the more daring, the better. Bold colors? Great. Slits and cut outs? Your best friends. We love seeing how far you can push the envelope and show your confidence, since there’s no harm in flaunting what you’ve got. If you’re looking for style inspiration, look to Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid, or Scarlett Johansson. They know how to style their curves and give other ladies a run for their money!
Nina Nguyen @Ninzeey styles our black & white striped Nassau Top with our Black Cat Mini Skirt. Cleverly adding a bright red clutch, Nina takes this outfit from basic to sizzling.
Minimalist and Classic
No frills, please! When it comes to your wardrobe, your motto is the simpler, the better, and no bells and whistles interest you. You love classic basics that work time and time again, and you aren’t much into over the top trends. Bloggers like Kate Arends and Mary Seng should be on your blogroll, and if you don’t already, check out celebs Allison Williams and Jennifer Lawrence for guidance.
Nina Nguyen @Ninzeey styles our Belle Cardigan with dark jeans and a solid knit tank in tangerine. We adore this simple yet sophisticated look that's easy to wear for any occasion.
There is nothing you won’t try once (or twice, or three times!) and just because one piece doesn’t match another, doesn’t mean you can’t wear them together. You are bold in your tastes because you aren’t afraid to mix, match, and throw things on because you like them. Each day is different according to your outfits, and you can’t be tied down to one style in particular. Lana del Ray had might as well be your (style) spirit animal, and you shouldn’t go a day without reading up on blogs like My Daily Style, My Free Choice, and Inside In, Inside Out.
Christine Hsu @KKarmalove styles our Manhattan Top with our leather CEO Skirt and a classic black booty. Coupled with gold bangles and fuchsia hair this outfit is basically unstoppable.
