5 Ways to Step Up Your Summer Style

As we make it into the final stretch of summer, the girls at Maven are making the most of what’s left. We have figured out where to find cheap parking by the beach, found our top happy hour spots, and last but not least, have nailed our favorite summer trends! We all know crop tops and maxi’s are this seasons hottest pieces, but what we fell in love with were all the sweet accessories that are available. We’ve listed our top 5 Summer Accessory Trends, because we all know no outfit is complete until the final finishing touches are added!

Not only is this trend super stylish, but it’s also a great way to shade your face from the harsh summer rays. The relaxed style of a fedora makes for an awesome daytime look. Whether you’re running errands or chilling at the beach, you can pair this hat with your outfit to instantly jazz it up. Not only does it work for the day, but rock it with our Kayden Jumpsuit to create a fab happy hour outfit. We suggest creating a loose side-swept braid to go underneath for a breezy beach look. No bad hair days here! Coming to Maven Boutique LA in August 2015!!

Septum Rings.

If you’re anything like us, you like to try different things but don’t necessarily want to make them last forever. That being said, is why we love temporary nose rings! It’s a great way to make any outfit more edgy but without the pain and making anything permanent. Many celebrities, such as FKA twigs, Rihanna, and Zoe Kravtiz, have been seen rocking the nose bling recently, making it a style we had to try! Ready to try the look? We love these ones from designer Gal Vardi.

Body Art.

Whether you’re showing off these tattoos in a bikini or sporting them as jewelry, Lulu DK Metallic Jewelry Tattoos are an awesome way to be creative. We personally love mixing and matching styles and stacking a few on our wrist.  With over 12 different designs, Lulu DK has everything from feather prints to turquoise and gold designs and even messages such as a cursive ‘I love you’ that looks amazing placed on your body.  These temporary tattoos (which usually last a few days) make your body shimmer and are definitely a conversation starter!

Bright Eye Liner.

Summer is all about bright colors and having fun, so why not combine these two when doing your makeup?  Bright eyeliner is one of those things that may seem challenging, but the girls at Maven guarantee it’s one of the easier summer trends we are obsessed with. Turquoise, green, purple and teal are among our favorite colors we like to experiment with. Keep the rest of your makeup simple and chose a color that compliments your skin tone to nail this look.  Makeup artist, Lauren Andersen, has a step-by-step guide on how to rock the bright eyeliner trend.  Take a peek, here. Don’t say we didn’t warn you; this summer trend is one we rock on a weekly basis.

 Nail Art.

Forget basic manicures, So Hot Right Nail brings shows your personality straight from your fingertips.  Being named as one of the best nail salons in Los Angeles, these unique and all natural designs will make you the coolest girl at any event. Artist, Bel Townsend is self taught and located in Hermosa Beach. Many of her designs have even been featured in numerous magazines. Some of our favorite designs include the fun florals, summer Pier Vibes, or the stripe designs, which pair perfectly with our Nassau Cropped Top! Check out her Instagram to pick a design, or bring a picture or idea and she’ll put it on your nails.

Ooooh I LOVE the metallic body tattoos! And a big YES to fedoras — cute and shaded, exactly what I love. I personally can’t pull off the nose ring, but kudos to everyone who can:)

I’m a little too conversative (or maybe just too old?) to try most of these trends, but at the beginning of the season I did buy a scarlet red fedora. I get compliments every time I wear it (and I’m a pale blonde, so the sun protection can’t be beat either.)

I never thought fedoras could be so stylish. I’ll have to get one myself. I like that it’s bright blue instead of boring black.

I love, love, love the fun and stylish nail art that is so hot all over the country right now. I try to keep one nail on each hand with a quirky, little, “summer” detail/design. It allows me to have a little fun and still pull off my business attire that I need for daytime.

I’m getting a fedora for Fall. It’s just too hot for me right now! Great post!
